"The
Unergi training has taken me from my head to my heart, to my
hands and back again. It's an extraordinary journey, one of
the most important ones I have taken and continue to take."

| "The
next strokes of paint on paper will come up from the earth,
up through my feet, legs, belly and
through arms and hands. The painting is an unfolding map of
my inner universe. I am not ahead of myself or behind. I am
completely present."

Unergi
- Unity & Energy
A
Holistic Body-Psychotherapy Method
developed by Ute Arnold
THE
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT in
the Unergi training is an experiential, non-linear educational process.
It has many facets: intensity, lightness and fun; reaching deep and reaching
out; growing up and growing more child-like. In this rich and diverse
educational community teachers become students, and students become teachers.
This training encourages the individual and the professional to expand
their awareness while facilitating others, adding a variety of new skills
to their present repertoire.
UNERGI
SKILLS INCLUDE:
- Mindful Movement:
greater freedom through body/mind movement sequences based on Moshe
Feldenkrais work, connecting to our innate body wisdom.
- Listening Touch:
intentional, safe and healing touch facilitated by the Alexander Technique.
- Experiential Anatomy:
studying, sensing and visualizing the inter-connecting energy pathways
between bones, muscles, and nervous system.
- The Chakras: attuning
to, energizing and connecting the 7 major body energy centers.
- Dream Work: processing
dreams through enactment, Gestalt Therapy and creative process.
- Creative Expression:
by drawing, painting, writing, doodling, scratching, sounding, playing
or dancing, the wisdom and woundedness of the inner child is accessed
and transformed; the inner artist discovers and celebrates new choices.
- Healing Forces
of Nature: communing with nature will guide us to the natural rhythms
within ourselves and the needs of the earth.
- Healing Community:
building inner safety and trust in relationships as natural healing
opportunities.
- Mystery and Silence:
honoring spirit and nurturing our well being through guided visualization
and meditation, realizing our creative divinity.
| IN
A UNERGI SESSION, the
therapist assists student or client in releasing habitual physical
and emotional patterns through intentional listening touch
and movement inviting a dialogue between body and mind. In this way
we access memories and feelings. |
 |
 |
THE
KINDS OF THEMES that
may surface during a Unergi session are: Emotional and physical burnout,
chronic pain, abusive touch, relationships and trust, self-confidence
and abundance, inner-child issues, creativity and spirituality. |
THE
UNERGI SESSION AND TRAINING COMBINES THE FOLLOWING TOOLS:
WITH FRITZ PERLS GESTALT THERAPY
we sense the many aspects
of self and how the body expresses these disparate parts through ease,
dis--ease, and disease. The process encourages the client to feel his
or her physical and emotional responses, clarifying issues and bringing
them into the present.
THE UNERGI
BODY - PSYCHOTHERAPIST
then invites these voices of the body to speak their truths and be heard.
This honors all that the client has been, is now, and is in the process
of becoming.
IN MOSHE
FELDENKRAIS' concepts
of Awareness Through Movement® the Unergi therapist uses specific psychophysical
movement sequences to stimulate neuro-muscular memory. The client discovers
new body-mind connections, allowing the possibility for making different
physical and emotional choices. Body and mind are given the opportunity
to heal together and reclaim ease of movement, sensing, thinking and responding.
THE ALEXANDER
TECHNIQUE
inspires an expansive lengthening, widening and deepening of the muscular/skeletal
energetic components of the body. The Unergi therapist uses the Alexander
technique sensing her own body to inform her quality of touch, passing
on that sensibility to the client.
THE
HEALING FORCES OF NATURE
guide our eyes to easily slide down a blade grass. Our bodies respond
as cells, muscles, bones and blood slurp up the exquisiteness of remembering
the many soft moveable shapes of cloudness; remembering rockness, hard
and composed, compressed, layered, shaped by centuries; remembering wren-ness,
blue, flitting, dancing with windy feathers; remembering dragonfly, eyes
in all directions, seeing in the round, up, down, sideways.
OUR
COLORFUL EXPRESSIONS with
brush on paper, hands on clay, dance, poetry or sound reveal what has
been hidden. What emerges from these activities often surprises the student
or client. An example of this might be a simple line contrasting a huge
black shape which partially covers a small figure reaching for a sunflower.
We begin to dialogue with these shapes using Gestalt therapy. The pictorial
images encourage us to identify the emotional energy stored in the psyche
and body. As we give them a voice, listen to them, dance or sound them,
the healing process is initiated.

IN UNERGI, touch,
talk, movement, sound, creativity and nature become our allies. They open
our receptive field and create the intention of Unergi, which is for us
to meet in a unified field of energy that includes all of life.
We are encouraged
to feel the range of all our emotions leading us to empathy and compassion
for ourselves and everyone in our lifes journey.
We learn to appreciate our fine mind and intuition beyond our intellect.
We use our body as a tool to expand awareness and find a delicate balance
between what is, was, and always has been.
